About
Attorney Elizabeth Parmer
Meet Attorney Elizabeth Parmer of Law Offices of Mark M. Childress, PLLC. For more than 30 years, Elizabeth Parmer has been a litigation/trial attorney specializing in handling family law and divorce matters which are so contentious they can only be finalized before a judge or jury.
With Law Offices of Mark M. Childress, PLLC, she is a Senior Lead Litigator who will take the position of first chair counsel on some of the firm’s most complicated and high-stakes cases. Before joining our firm, Elizabeth spent 15 years as managing attorney of a team at a prominent joint venture that handled complex real estate tax contracts and cases, an area of the law that often overlaps with high-value divorces. Concurrent with that position, Elizabeth Parmer also owned and managed the Law Offices of Elizabeth Parmer, a boutique family law firm that specialized in large estate divorces and high-conflict family law litigation. Elizabeth is the litigator of choice for many other family attorneys across the state who outsource their jury work. Elizabeth began her career as a personal injury attorney doing regular jury work. The skills she acquired from some of the finest trial attorneys in the state proved invaluable to her in her years of family practice. Elizabeth has first chaired over 200 trials, both to the bench and to a jury. She has represented professional athletes and regularly worked on estates valued in excess of 20 million dollars. However, she takes the same dogged determination to court defending average folks fighting for their children against being steamrolled by an unfeeling system. In short, she is a fighter.
To begin her higher education, Betsy attended the prestigious Yale University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with Honors; she also played on the Yale Women’s Rugby Team, and was named Captain her senior year. Only a few years later, she finished her Juris Doctorate at the University of Texas in 1992, where she earned the American Jurisprudence Award for Legislation and Conflicts of Law. Elizabeth has been a practicing attorney since graduating from law school, completing her first jury trial within two months of starting her first position.
Although Elizabeth was born in Washington DC, she has lived in Fort Worth since she was a baby. Her late father, Hugh Parmer, was Mayor of Fort Worth, a member of the State Senate, and a Presidential appointee, so she comes by her Fort Worth roots naturally. Elizabeth lives with her husband, James Hinkle, who is an artist and hall-of-fame guitarist. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with James and their daughter, Claire Hinkle, who is a young musician-to-watch, and their two pit bull mix rescue dogs. She also enjoys volunteering her time with organizations that benefit local communities.
