Texas residents who are fans of the VH1 reality show 'Black Ink Crew" may be interested to learn that Ceaser Emanuel, who stars on the show, was taken into police custody for child support delinquencies. A report from TMZ claims that Emanuel was finishing work on a client's tattoo when police officers placed him in handcuffs and led him out the door of his tattoo shop for nonpayment of child support.
A video posted to TMZ shows Emanuel being led towards the front door by police. As he is walking, Emanuel tells the officers that they really violated him and they could have done their job when no cameras were around. At the time, filming of Emanuel's VH1 show was underway.
Emanuel's child support issues reportedly involve his daughter and his daughter's mother. There were no immediate reports about how behind Emanuel is on his child support payments or whether he was allowed to go home on bail after the incident at the tattoo shop. There were reports that Emanuel's girlfriend Dutchess went with him to the precinct after his arrest.
Parents often fall behind on child support payments because they are no longer able to afford to make the payments in accordance with the original child support order. When a parent petitions for a modification of the child support order, the change only goes into effect once it is approved by a judge, and the change is not retroactive. A parent may want to seek help from an attorney as soon as they determine that their financial circumstances have changed.
